WTOC-TV (CBS), SAVANNAH, GEORGIA, September 2006 – August 2009 Morning Anchor / Reporter Cultivate strong viewership as morning Anchor for The News at Daybreak, broadcasting daily from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. to forward television station’s research, synthesis, and topflight reporting of regional and national events. Collaborate with reporters, photographers, and editors to conceptualize, create, and deliver credible and informative news stories. Cultivate and secure external experts, sources, and spokespersons from public and private sectors to support the accurate and comprehensive reporting of complex information. Write, edit, and deliver scripts on camera; optimize full lifecycle of video and editing production activities. Coordinate and perform live shots when warranted; step up to serve as fill-in anchor for evening and weekend newscasts. Key Achievements: Instrumental in driving The News at Daybreak to #1 position in local ratings. Introduced, wrote, and edited weekly "Top Teacher" and “Top Teen” segments to highlight contributions of teachers and teens within the community. Heightened visibility and reach of station by frequently participating in community events and functions. SAVANNAH STATE UNIVERSITY, SAVANNAH, GEORGIA, January – May 2009 Speech Instructor (Part-Time) Leverage professional expertise in broadcast journalism to structure and deliver undergraduate course in Speech for Radio and Television. Model voice techniques, including phonation, articulation, and proper breathing to heighten student command of effective public speaking skills. Identify individual students' strengths and challenges, evaluate performance, and recommend strategies for improvement. WLOX-TV (ABC), BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI, September 2002 – September 2006 General Assignment Reporter / Weekend Anchor Brought on board to report for morning, 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts. Completed and submitted general assignment stories, coordinated live shots and on-sets, and served as substitute anchor for weekday broadcasts. Key Achievements: Successfully anchored weekend 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. broadcasts. Contributed to station's capture of 2006 Edward R. Murrow National Award in the category of continuing coverage for the around-the-clock reporting of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. KOMU-TV (NBC), COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, 2001 – 2002 General Assignment Reporter / Anchor Honed substantial expertise in broadcast journalism as reporter for three evening and sunrise newscasts. Coordinated and directed shoots; researched, wrote, and edited stories to meet challenging deadlines. Set up and performed regular live shots and on-sets.
