Anchor/Reporter/Host/10pm Producer | March 2013-May 2017
 
- Solo Anchor and producer of the 5:30 and 10 pm. newscasts for ABC affiliate WHOI. Newscasts have moved from third to second in main demo for first time in more than 30 years.
 
− Led station coverage on implementation of Affordable Care Act.
 
− Also hostedf bi-monthly "Docs on Call' and “Ask the Attorney” call-in programs in prime access, telethons and the Peoria Journal Star Spelling Bee.
 
 
WVVA (NBC affiliate) (Bluefield, WV)
 
Anchor/Program Host | 2010—2012
 
− Served as the lead evening news anchor for one of the strongest NBC affiliates in the country (#1 in its market, with double-digit ratings increases during my tenure)
 
− Produced the 11pm newscast, which has seen triple the ratings of all its competition combined
 
− Managed all copy editing and mentor a staff of 20
 
− Hosted a weekly public affairs program
 
 
NEWS 12 CONNECTICUT (Norwalk, CT)
 
Morning Co-Anchor and Daytime Solo Anchor/Editor | 2004—2008
 
− Anchored newscasts for the leading local/regional news provider in cable; also served as the supervising copyeditor for a three-and-a-half-hour news block. Morning news was #1 in the New York City market in its cable universe
 
− Hosted two half-hour weekend programs, Education Notebook (winner of the 2006 Best Program Series from the New England Cable & Telecommunications Association and the 2007 NECTA Chairman’s Award) and What’s Cooking
 
− Also served as Anchor and Reporter for NEWS 12 NEW JERSEY
 
 
WVNY (ABC affiliate) (Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh, NY/ Montreal, QC)
 
Anchor/News Director/Executive Producer | 1999—2003
 
− Served as the solo anchor for the 6pm and 11pm newscasts and played an integral role in the operation’s startup.
 
 
WOIO (CBS affiliate)/WUAB (UPN affiliate) (Cleveland, OH)
 
Anchor | 1991—1998
 
− Served as Morning Host/Noon Anchor on WOIO (1997-1998), presiding over a 20% increase in ratings for the morning show and an ascent from fourth to third place for the noon broadcast; also served as the weekend anchor for the 6pm and 11pm broadcasts, where the latter’s ratings advanced to second in the market
 
− Served as the Weekend Anchor on WUAB (1991-1997), providing live reports for CBS Newspath and working as a Special Assignment Correspondent with extensive domestic and international travel (i.e. Jordan, Israel, Poland, UK)
 
− Hosted prime-time specials, including Town Hall meetings, July 4th Extravaganza and Easter Seal Telethon
 
 
KTVU (Fox affiliate) (Oakland/San Francisco, CA)
 
Anchor | 1988—1991
 
− Served as the Morning/Noon Anchor (1990-1991) and the Host of a one-hour news and entertainment talk show (1988-1990)
 
− Increased program ratings from a 1 to a 4; the “2 at Noon” program transformed into “Mornings on 2”, the first live two-hour morning show on the West Coast to go up against taped network broadcasts.
 
− Anchored breaking news coverage, including seven consecutive hours on the night of the 1989 Earthquake and during the 1991 Oakland Fires
 
− Hosted Specials, including Chinese New Year’s Parade (syndicated internationally) and Easter Seal Telethon; Co-Host of Earthquake Relief Concert/Telethon aired on all Bay Area stations
 
− Guest host on San Francisco radio stations KGO and K101

Anchor/Executive Producer | 1983—1988
 
− Served as solo anchor and Executive Producer of the 5pm, 6pm and 10pm newscasts, elevating all to #1 ranking

− Supervise a team of six producers, overseeing all breaking news coverage and reporting
 
− Top edit all news copy and conduct writing seminars for staff on proper story structure

− Supervised the creation of the news operation for new ownership: developed format and designed opening, graphics, fonts, and music in preparation for station’s August, 1999 debut

− Created three-person investigative unit and brought ABC News correspondent Barrie Dunsmore out of retirement to provide weekly commentary
